The Abbey

Why an abbey? Well an abbey is in many ways a castle, at least the tradition construction of them is. It is of course also a church, many abbey’s are dedicated to a monastic order seeking to accomplish a particular goal or vision. I floundered for a few days over the title of my “abbey” debating over “principium abbey” the “Western Abbey” or perhaps even “Principium priory” but none of them had the ring to it I quite liked. Finally, my dad just said why not just “The Abbey,” and I thought that was perfect! It conveys the exact message that I wanted, this is a shelter from the whims, or attacks, of modern culture. A haven for those who are attempting to learn about the classic ideas that built Christendom aka “The West.” I call it Christendom because… that’s what it was. A united portion of the globe dedicated to the Word of God, and to the discovery of the world He gave us. Unfortunately, revelation and Reason, Athens and Jerusalem, we’ve lost that vision along the way.

Accordingly, I invite you all to take a step through the archway and come enjoy The Abbey! Always remember to put First Things First!
